Responsibilities include:
- To check that the Section acts in accordance with IEEE and Section Bylaws, and to advise the Chairman and Committee of any irregularities in the conduct of Section affairs.
- To make accurate minutes of each Section Committee meeting; to circulate these soon after each meeting (with appropriate meeting papers), after they have been agreed by the Chairman; and to present them to the next Committee meeting for approval.
- To make arrangements, in consultation with the Chairman, for the place and date of Section Committee meetings.
- To draft, and to agree with the Chairman, the agenda for Section Committee meetings, and to circulate the agenda and meeting papers to members of the Section Committee at least two weeks before each meeting.
- To ensure that Section records are kept.
- To be familiar with the annual reports required by Regional Activities, and to ensure that these are completed and arrive by the deadline dates.
- To notify Regional Activities and IEEE Headquarters, copied to each Section Officer, of changes in the names and addresses of Section Officers.
- To handle, in consultation with the Section Chairman, Section correspondence.
- To assist members with such problems as payment of dues, delay in the delivery of publications, failure to reply to correspondence.
- To keep a stock of up-to-date IEEE membership application forms. Fellow and Awards forms, report forms and other forms and stationery for Section use.

Responsibilities include:
- The AF Chairman is responsible to the GOLD Committee and ultimately to the Region 10 GOLD Coordinator for the actions of all Section Officers and for every aspect of Section affairs.
- The Chairman must ensure that the GOLD discusses everything necessary for maintaining an active and a well organized AF which meets the needs of its members. To achieve this the Committee should meet at least twice a year.
- Coordinates the GOLD activities in the Section that are specifically aimed at recent graduated members.
- Imports successful ideas and activities from other Sections, Regions and other worlds (Students).
- Creates/updates the necessary electronic links for all the GOLD members: mailing lists, web site, etc.
- Reports about the GOLD activities in the Section to the Section Committee.
- Creates and expands awareness about GOLD and GOLD Activities in the Section.
- Initiates and supports the activities of GOLD Affinity Group in the Section,
- Is a networker between GOLD members in the Section and other IEEE entities.
- Promotes GOLD Awards and endorses valid nominations for these Awards in the Section.
- Gets special and non-budgeted funding for extraordinary GOLD activities in the Section.
